[English with Yoo] It's definitely spontaneous

안녕하세요 English with Yoo! 의 Jennifer Yoo입니다. English with Yoo!

I’ll give you a daily introduction to some meaningful and useful everyday English words and phrases! So let’s get started today!

It’s definitely spontaneous

Here in the United States, Labor Day is always observed on the first Monday in September, so this coming Monday, September 3rd, is Labor Day! And Americans are looking forward to this long three-day weekend (Saturday, Sunday & Monday!) since Labor Day falls on Monday.

Labor Day is an American federal holiday and we pay tribute to the economic and social contributions and achievements of American workers. And of course! It’s the last holiday of the summer! So, we celebrate with parties, parades and other fun spontaneous events!

I bumped into two adults, Jackie and Andrew, here in Washington D.C. who is starting their long weekend by spontaneously renting a bike and spontaneously biking around the city!

Listen carefully!

It’s definitely spontaneous!

Jen: So when is the last time -- the last time you guys rode a bike?
Jackie: Actually for me, it’s been probably a couple years, but definitely I’m looking forward to it.
Andrew: Well, I think I’ve rode at least a year ago, within the last year.
Jen: Any plans on where you guys are going to go? Or is it going to be a spontaneous ride around the city?
Jackie: It’s definitely spontaneous because we’re not familiar with this area at all!
Andrew: Right! We’ve been talking about where we will be going but we’re not sure.
Jackie: Well, we will find some shopping and some place good to eat. It should be fun!

Any plan on where you guys are going to go? “It’s definitely spontaneous because we’re not familiar with the area at all!”

오늘의 영어 표현은: It’s definitely spontaneous…

Spontaneous / S P O N T A N E O U S, spontaneous

It’s definitely spontaneous because we’re not familiar with this area at all! It’s definitely spontaneous

Let’s listen to the conversation again. Try to pick out the phrase we are learning today. Listen carefully.
