Today, we are going to learn a common American phrase. Before we find out what it means, let’s listen to today’s conversation. Listen carefully. 오늘의 대화를 들어보면서 ‘snap out of it’가 무슨 뜻인지 알아 보겠습니다.
Snap out of it
Jason: What’s going on with you? You’ve been angry the whole day. That’s not like you so snap out of it.
Jen: I’m trying to snap out of it but I can’t! I’m just having a horrible day.
본문에서 Jason이 제게 “What’s going on with you? You’ve been angry the whole day. That’s not like you so snap out of it. 너답지 않으니까, 기운을 내”라고 하자, 저는 “I’m trying to snap out of it but I can’t! I’m just having a horrible day.
Now keep today’s expression, ‘snap out of it’ in mind and let’s hear the conversation again.

Today’s expression is snap out of it. Snap out of it means to force yourself to stop behaving in a negative way or to stop from experiencing something, especially something unpleasant. Snap out of it은 '기운을 내' 혹은 ‘정신 좀 차려’라는 뜻입니다.
In today’s conversation Jason notices that I am very upset, which is very unlike me. So he tells me to snap out of it. “That’s not like you so snap out of it.”
Now let me give you some example sentences using today’s expression. “Laura, it’s time you snapped out of it.” Here is another example. “Alex just can’t seem to snap out of it.” ‘Snap out of it’이라는 표현 잘 기억하시고요.
