범인은 회교에서 말하는 ‘신은 위대하다’를 뜻하는 알라후 아크바르라고 외치면서 총을 난사한 직후 체포됐습니다.
요르단 내무부의 에이드 알-파예즈 장관은 범인이 30대의 요르단인이라고 밝히고 그의 범행동기를 추궁하고 있다고 말했습니다.

Jordanian officials are calling today's (Monday's) shooting of foreign tourists a terrorist act, and they are investigating to determine whether the gunman acted on his own.
A British man was killed and six other people were wounded in the shooting at the Roman amphitheater in Amman.
The gunman was arrested after the shooting. Witnesses say he was shouting "Allahu Akbar," or God is great, as he opened fire.
Interior Minister Eid al-Fayez called the shooting a cowardly terrorist attack. He identified the suspect as a Jordanian man in his 30s, and said investigators are trying to determine his motive.
Jordan was the scene of three suicide bombings at hotels in Amman in November. Those attacks killed 60 people and al-Qaida in Iraq claimed responsibility.
