Jen: Mike, give me five more minutes please?

Mike: No. If you don’t come right now, we will have to leave without you.

Jen: All right I’m coming now.

Get a move on! 야 빨리해!” 라고 하자 제가 “Mike, give me five more minutes please? 딱 5분만 더 줄 수 있니?”라고 했습니다. 하지만 Mike가 화가 많이 났나 봐요. “No. If you don’t come right now, we will have to leave without you.”라고 하더라고요. 할수 없이 제가 “All right I’m coming now. 알았어. 지금 빨리 내려갈게.” 라고 대답했습니다. 오늘 영어표현은 get a move on입니다. When someone tells you to ‘get a move on’ he or she is telling you to hurry or do something faster. ‘Get a move on’은 ‘빨리해, 서둘러’ 라는 뜻인데요. 때로는 남에게 빨리하라고 명령할 때 쓰이기도 합니다. Here are some examples. Frank, get a move on! We’re going to be late because of you!라고 하면 Frank, 서둘러! 너 때문에 늦게 생겼잖아! 라는 뜻이 됩니다. 또 다른 예를 들어볼까요?
