미국 인도태평양사령부는 “미국은 북한의 이번 발사를 규탄하며 북한이 추가적으로 불안정을 야기하는 행동을 자제할 것을 촉구한다”고 밝혔습니다.
[미 인도·태평양 사령부] “We are aware of the DPRK's ballistic missile launch this evening and are consulting closely with the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Japan, as well as other regional allies and partners. The United States condemns this launch and calls on the DPRK to refrain from further destabilizing acts. While we have assessed that this event does not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel, territory, or that of our allies, we will continue to monitor the situation. The U.S. commitment to the defense of the ROK and Japan, remains ironclad."
인도태평양사령부는 4일 성명을 통해 “우리는 오늘 저녁 북한이 탄도미사일을 발사한 사실을 인지하고 있으며 한국, 일본을 비롯해 다른 역내 동맹·파트너와 긴밀히 협의하고 있다”고 말했습니다.
그러면서 “우리는 이번 발사가 미국 측 인력이나 영토, 동맹에 직접적인 위협을 가하지 않는다고 평가하지만, 상황을 계속 주시할 것”이라고 덧붙였습니다.
또한 “한국과 일본 방어에 대한 미국의 의지는 여전히 철통같다”고 강조했습니다.
