유럽연합이 북한의 탄도미사일 발사를 국제 평화에 대한 위협으로 규정하며 강력히 규탄했습니다. 안보리 상임이사국인 프랑스는 북한이 불안정을 조장하는 행동을 즉각 중단하고 지체 없이 국제의무를 준수할 것을 촉구했습니다. 함지하 기자가 보도합니다.
유럽연합(EU)은 북한의 14일 탄도미사일 발사를 “강력히 규탄한다”고 밝혔습니다.
[EU 성명] “The EU strongly condemns the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) launch of a ballistic missile on 14 January. The EU calls on the DPRK to cease all illegal actions that undermine international peace and security in its region and beyond.”
EU는 15일 성명을 통해 이같이 밝히며 “북한이 국제 평화와 안보를 저해하는 모든 불법 행위를 중단할 것을 촉구한다”고 말했습니다.
또한 “한반도의 지속 가능한 평화와 안보로 가는 유일한 길은 북한이 핵무기와 탄도미사일 프로그램을 완전하고 검증 가능하며 되돌릴 수 없는 방식으로 포기하기 위해 관련 당사국과 대화에 나서고 유엔 안보리 결의에 따른 의무를 준수하는 것”이라고 강조했습니다.
[EU 성명] “The only route to sustainable peace and security on the Korean peninsula lies in the DPRK engaging in dialogue with relevant parties and complying with its obligations under UN Security Council resolutions to abandon its nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner. The EU is ready to work with all partners in promoting a meaningful diplomatic process aimed at the complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula.”
그러면서 “EU는 한반도의 완전하고 검증 가능하며 되돌릴 수 없는 비핵화를 목표로 하는 의미 있는 외교적 과정을 촉진하기 위해 모든 파트너와 협력할 준비가 돼 있다”고 덧붙였습니다.
북한은 14일 극초음속 기동형 조종 전투부를 장착한 중장거리 고체연료 탄도미사일 시험발사에 성공했다며 관영매체들을 통해 사진을 공개했다.
1월 안보리 의장국인 프랑스도 북한의 미사일 도발을 강력히 규탄했습니다.
프랑스 외무부는 15일 성명에서 “프랑스는 북한의 14일 탄도미사일 발사를 가장 강력한 용어로 규탄한다”며 이번 발사는 유엔 안보리 결의를 또다시 위반한 것이라고 지적했습니다.
[프랑스 외무부 성명] “France condemns in the strongest terms North Korea’s ballistic missile launch on 14 January, which is a further violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions. France assures the Republic of Korea and Japan of its full solidarity. It urges North Korea to immediately halt its destabilizing actions, comply with its international obligations without delay and return to the negotiating table with a view to engaging in a process of full, verifiable and irreversible abandonment of its nuclear and ballistic missile programmes.”
이어 “프랑스는 한국, 일본에 대한 전폭적인 연대를 확언한다”면서 “북한이 불안정을 조장하는 행위를 즉각 중단하고 지체 없이 국제의무를 준수하는 한편, 핵과 탄도미사일 프로그램의 완전하고 검증 가능하며 되돌릴 수 없는 폐기로 이어지는 과정에 참여하기 위해 협상 테이블로 복귀할 것을 촉구한다”고 강조했습니다.
[프랑스 외무부 성명] “France is fully mobilized with its partners to ensure that the United Nations Security Council’s relevant resolutions are implemented, and it encourages dialogue between all the parties.”
그러면서 “프랑스는 파트너들과 함께 관련 유엔 안보리 결의가 반드시 이행되도록 하는 데 전념하고 있으며, 모든 관련국 간의 대화를 독려한다”고 밝혔습니다.
앞서 북한은 한반도 시각으로 14일 동해상으로 중거리급 탄도미사일을 발사했습니다.
한국 합참은 “이번 북한의 미사일 발사는 한반도의 평화와 안정을 심각하게 위협하는 명백한 도발행위로 강력히 규탄한다”고 밝혔습니다.
