미국 인도태평양사령부는 북한의 탄도미사일 시험발사와 관련해 "우리는 북한이 다수의 탄도미사일을 쏜 것을 알고 있으며 동맹·파트너와 긴밀히 협의하고 있다"고 밝혔습니다.
[미 인도태평양사령부 성명] “We are aware of the DPRK’s multiple ballistic missile launches and are consulting closely with our allies and partners. While we have assessed that this event does not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel or territory, or to our allies, these missile launches highlight the destabilizing impact of the DPRK’s illicit weapons program. The U.S. commitment to the defense of the Republic of Korea and Japan remains ironclad.”
인도태평양사령부는 4일 성명에서 “우리는 이번 일이 미국 요원이나 영토, 또는 동맹들에 즉각적인 위협이 되지 않는다고 평가하지만, 이러한 미사일 발사는 북한의 불법 무기 프로그램이 일으키는 불안정성을 잘 보여준다”고 말했습니다.
그러면서 “한국과 일본에 대한 미국의 방위 공약은 여전히 철통같다”고 강조했습니다.
