미국령 괌의 당국은 북한의 최근 무더기 탄도미사일 발사가 괌에 대한 즉각적인 위협이 아니라고 평가했습니다.
[브레넌 고문] “No immediate threat was assessed for Guam or the Northern Marianas from the reported launch,” said Samantha Brennan, Homeland Security Advisor. “GHS/OCD, along with our local, military, and federal partners, will continue to monitor the events surrounding our region.”
괌 국토안보민방위 사무국(GHS/OCD)은 5일 사만다 브레넌 국토안보 고문을 인용해 발표한 성명에서 “보고된 발사가 괌이나 북마리아나 제도에 대한 즉각적인 위협을 가하는 것으로 평가되지 않았다”고 밝혔습니다.
브레넌 고문은 “괌 국토안보민방위 사무국은 (북한의 무력 도발과 관련해) 지역, 군, 미 연방 파트너들과 함께 우리 지역을 둘러싼 사건을 계속 감시할 것”이라고 강조했습니다.
괌 당국은 “괌 국토안보민방위 사무국이 마리아나 지역융합센터(MRFC)와 미 연방, 군사 파트너들과 함께 최근 북한이 쏘아 올린 미상 발사체에 대한 보도들을 포함해 역내 주변 사건을 계속 관찰하고 있다”고 설명했습니다.
[괌 당국] “The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) today.”
앞서 북한은 앞서 5일 오전 평양 순안과 평안남도 개천, 평안북도 동창리, 함경남도 함흥 일대 등 4곳에서 동해상으로 단거리 탄도미사일 8발을 발사했습니다.
한편 북한이 다수의 미사일을 발사한 가운데 미국 공군의 B-1B 전략폭격기 4대가 태평양 괌에 배치된 정황이 민간 위성업체 ‘플래닛 랩스’에 포착됐습니다.
