일본이 북한의 탄도미사일 발사 등에 따른 우려를 해결하기 위해 미국, 한국과 긴밀해 협력하고 있다고 강조했습니다. 북한의 행위가 역내와 국제 안보를 위협한다는 점도 거듭 밝혔습니다. 박동정 기자가 보도합니다.
일본 정부가 북한의 거듭된 미사일 발사와 관련해 “미국, 한국 등 관련국과 긴밀히 협력해 정보 수집과 분석, 관찰 ∙감시 활동을 전개해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔습니다.
일본 방위성 당국자는 27일 VOA의 관련 문의에 이같이 밝히며 “이는 일본 국민들의 생명과 재산을 보호하기 위한 것”이라고 강조했습니다.
[일본 방위성 당국자] “The Government of Japan will continue to cooperate closely with relevant countries such as the U.S. and ROK conducting information gathering and analysis, as well as monitoring and surveillance activities in order to protect the lives and properties of people in Japan.”
일본은 미한일 3국이 긴밀히 협력하고 있다는 점도 강조했습니다.
[일본 방위성 당국자] “At the Japan－U.S. –ROK Trilateral Ministerial Meeting (TMM) on Saturday, June 3, the three countries pledged that they would cooperate closely toward their shared commitment to achieve the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in accordance with the UNSCRs, and shared their deep concerns about North Korea’s weapons of mass of destruction and ballistic missile development which pose a grave threat to international peace and stability, and they committed to address these concerns through trilateral cooperation.”
특히 “지난 3일 열린 미한일 3국 장관급 회담(TMM)에서 세 나라는 유엔 안보리 결의에 따른 한반도의 완전한 비핵화 달성을 위한 공동의 노력을 위해 긴밀히 협력해 나갈 것을 다짐했다”고 일본 방위성 측은 설명했습니다.
또한 “국제 평화와 안정에 심각한 위협이 되는 북한의 대량살상무기와 탄도미사일 개발에 대한 깊은 우려를 공유했다”면서 “3국 협력을 통해 이러한 우려를 해결하는 데 전념하고 있다”고 말했습니다.
북한 도발 행위에 대한 규탄 입장도 거듭 밝혔습니다.
[일본 방위성 당국자] “The series of North Korea’s activities including the repeated launches of ballistic missiles and others threaten the peace and security of Japan, the region, and the international community. Such launches are in violation of relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions (UNSCRs), and a serious problem affecting the security of people in Japan, in light of the fact that the ballistic missile launched by North Korea on Thursday, June 15 fell within Japan's EEZ. Japan strongly protested and condemned them.”
“거듭된 탄도미사일 발사를 포함한 북한의 일련의 행동은 일본과 역내, 그리고 국제사회의 평화와 안보를 위협하고 있다”는 것입니다.
또한 “이런 발사가 유엔 안보리 결의를 위반한 것”이라는 점도 강조했습니다.
아울러 북한이 지난 15일 발사한 탄도미사일이 일본 배타적경제수역(EEZ) 내에 떨어졌다고 거론하며 “일본 국민의 안전에 영향을 미치는 심각한 문제”라고도 지적했습니다.
또한 일본은 이와 관련해 “강력히 항의하고 규탄했다”고 상기했습니다.
앞서 북한은 지난 15일 순안 일대에서 동해상으로 단거리 탄도미사일(SRBM) 2발을 발사했습니다. 이는 지난 4월에 신형 고체연료 대륙간탄도미사일(ICBM) ‘화성-18형’을 시험 발사한 이후 63일만이었습니다.
이에 앞서 북한은 지난달 31일 군사 정찰위성을 탑재한 우주발사체를 쏘아 올렸지만 엔진 고장으로 실패했습니다
