토니 블링컨 국무장관과 하야시 요시마사 일본 외무상이 북한의 잇따른 탄도미사일 발사 문제 등 국제 현안들을 논의했습니다.
네드 프라이스 미 국무부 대변인은 23일 보도자료에서 블링컨 장관과 하야시 외무상이 이날 도쿄에서 만났다면서 “두 장관은 다수의 유엔 안보리 결의 위반인 탄도미사일 발사를 규탄했다”고 밝혔습니다.
[프라이스 대변인] “They condemned the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)’s ballistic missile launches, which have been in violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions. Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Hayashi discussed their shared interest in maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. The Secretary underscored the importance of U.S.-Japan-ROK cooperation, which reinforces a free, open, interconnected, prosperous, resilient, and secure Indo-Pacific region.”
이어 블링컨 장관과 하야시 외무상은 “타이완 해협에서의 평화와 안정 유지에 대한 공동의 이익을 논의했다”며 “(블링컨) 장관은 자유롭고 개방적이며 상호 연계적이고 번영하며 회복력이 있는 안전한 인도태평양을 강화하는 미·한·일 협력의 중요성도 강조했다”고 프라이스 대변인은 덧붙였습니다.
프라이스 대변인은 “두 장관이 미일 동맹을 인도태평양 지역의 평화와 안보, 번영의 초석으로 강조했다”고 말했습니다.
[프라이스 대변인] “The Secretary and the Foreign Minister hailed the U.S.-Japan Alliance as the cornerstone of peace, security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. They reaffirmed their resolute support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence and committed to holding the Kremlin accountable for its war of aggression in Ukraine. Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Hayashi welcomed the launch of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, which will drive sustainable and inclusive economic growth and prosperity and planned to convene a meeting of the U.S.-Japan Economic Policy Consultative Committee this summer.”
그러면서 “양측은 우크라이나의 주권과 독립에 대한 지지를 재확인하고 우크라이나 침략 전쟁에 대해 러시아의 책임을 묻기로 약속했다”고 덧붙였습니다.
아울러 “두 장관은 지속 가능하고 포용적인 경제성장과 번영을 견인할 ‘인도태평양 경제 프레임워크’ 출범을 환영하고 이번 여름 미일 경제정책협의위원회 회의 소집을 계획했다”고 밝혔습니다.
