일본과 필리핀 정상이 도쿄에서 열린 회담에서 북한에 일본인 납치 문제의 즉각적인 해결을 촉구했습니다. 핵무기 등 북한 대량살상무기의 완전하고 검증 가능하며 되돌릴 수 없는 폐기를 위한 의지도 확인했습니다. 안소영 기자입니다.
기시다 후미오 일본 총리와 페르디난드 마르코스 주니어 필리핀 대통령이 9일 도쿄에서 정상회담을 열고 양국 간 현안과 국제 안보 문제 등을 논의했습니다.
[공동성명] “The leaders condemned the abduction of Japanese citizens by North Korea over the years, and urged North Korea to immediately resolve the abductions issue. The leaders condemned North Korea’s ongoing development of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles including the unprecedented number of ballistic missiles launches last year and reiterated their commitment to achieving the complete, verifiable and irreversible dismantlement of all weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles of all ranges of North Korea. The leaders urged North Korea to fully comply with all of its obligations under the relevant UN Security Council resolutions (UNSCRs), and emphasized the importance of the international community fully implementing the UNSCRs.”
두 정상은 회담 후 발표한 공동성명에서 북한과 관련해 먼저 수년 간 자행된 북한에 의한 일본인 납치를 규탄하고, 북한에 납치 문제를 즉각 해결하라고 촉구했습니다.
또한 두 정상은 지난해 전례 없는 빈도의 탄도미사일 발사를 포함해 북한의 계속된 핵무기와 탄도미사일 개발을 규탄했습니다.
그러면서 북한의 모든 대량살상무기와 모든 사거리의 탄도미사일의 완전하고 검증 가능하며 되돌릴 수 없는 폐기를 달성하기 위한 의지를 재확인했다고 덧붙였습니다.
이어 두 정상은 북한이 관련 유엔 안전보장이사회 결의들에 따른 의무를 준수할 것을 촉구하고, 국제사회가 안보리 결의를 완전히 이행하는 것의 중요성을 강조했습니다.
10일에는 하야시 요시마사 일본 외무상이 일본을 방문한 엔리케 마날로 필리핀 외무장관과 회담하고 북한 문제 등 역내 현안을 논의했습니다.
[일본 외무성 보도자료] “Regarding regional and international affairs, the two ministers exchanged views on the situation in the East and South China Seas, the situation in Ukraine, response to North Korea including nuclear and missiles as well as the abductions issue, the situation in Myanmar, nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, and efforts to strengthen the United Nations including the Security Council reform. The two ministers affirmed the need for close coordination.”
일본 외무성은 이날 보도자료에서 두 장관이 동중국해와 남중국해 상황, 우크라이나 상황, 핵과 미사일뿐 아니라 납치 문제 등 북한에 대한 대응, 미얀마 정세, 유엔 강화 노력 등에 대한 의견을 교환했다고 설명했습니다.
한편 기시다 총리는 앞선 9일 응우옌 쑤언 푹 베트남 국가주석과도 화상 정상회담을 열고 북한 문제 등을 논의했습니다.
[일본 외무성 보도자료] “Prime Minister Kishida stated that Viet Nam is an important partner that plays a key role in realizing a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific,” and expressed his desire to continue to cooperate with Vietnam regarding Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the East and South China Seas, and dealing with North Korea, including on the nuclear and missile issues, and the abductions issue, and the two leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation on various strategic issues.”
일본 외무성은 이날 보도자료에서 기시다 총리가 러시아의 우크라이나 침공, 동중국해와 남중국해 상황, 핵과 미사일 문제, 납치 문제 등 북한 문제를 다루는데 있어 계속 베트남과 협력하고 싶다는 뜻을 표명했다고 전했습니다.
이어 두 정상이 다양한 전략적 문제에 대한 협력을 강화하기로 합의했다고 일본 외무성은 밝혔습니다.
