유엔,  북한 미사일 발사에 “안보리 결의 위반”…EU “국제 평화·안보 위협”

북한이 탄도미사일 발사를 재개한 데 대해 유엔은 안보리 결의 위반을 지적했습니다. 유럽연합은 안보리 결의에 대한 북한의 지속적인 무시가 국제 평화와 안보를 위협한다고 비판했습니다. 안소영 기자가 보도합니다.

유엔이 한반도의 긴장을 고조시키는 북한의 도발에 대해 우려를 표명했습니다.

[하크 부대변인] “The Secretary-General remains concerned about the rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula. The DPRK’s continued launches of missiles using ballistic missile technology are clear violations of relevant Security Council resolutions.”

파르한 하크 유엔 사무총장 부대변인은 15일 북한이 단거리 탄도미사일 발사를 재개한 데 대한 VOA의 논평 요청에 “(안토니우 구테흐스) 사무총장은 한반도에서 긴장이 고조되고 있는 데 대해 여전히 우려하고 있다”며 “탄도미사일 기술을 이용한 북한의 계속된 미사일 발사는 관련 유엔 안보리 결의의 명백한 위반”이라고 비판했습니다.

그러면서 “사무총장은 긴장 완화와 관련 안보리 결의의 완전한 이행을 거듭 촉구한다”고 덧붙였습니다.

이어 사무총장은 “모든 관련 당사국이 대화에 도움이 되는 환경을 조성할 것을 지속적으로 촉구한다”며 “외교적 관여가 지속 가능한 평화와 한반도의 완전하고 검증 가능한 비핵화로 향하는 유일한 길”이라고 강조했습니다.

[하크 부대변인] “The Secretary-General reiterates his call for de-escalation and the full implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions. He has consistently called for the resumption of talks and for all concerned to foster an environment that is conducive to dialogue. Diplomatic engagement remains the only pathway to sustainable peace and the complete and verifiable denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.”

유럽연합(EU)은 15일 VOA 논평 요청에 “탄도 군사 기술을 이용한 북한의 발사를 강력히 규탄한다”고 밝혔습니다.

[EU 대변인] “The EU strongly condemns the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) launch using ballistic military technology. The DPRK’s continued and complete disregard for its obligations under UN Security Council resolutions threatens international and regional peace and security. The DPRK must immediately comply with UN Security Council resolutions by abandoning all its nuclear weapons, other weapons of mass destruction, ballistic missile programmes and existing nuclear programmes, in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner and cease all related activities.”

EU 대변인은 이어 “유엔 안보리 결의에 따른 의무에 대한 북한의 지속적이고 완전한 무시는 국제 및 역내 평화와 안보를 위협한다”고 지적했습니다.

그러면서 “북한은 모든 핵무기와 기타 대량살상무기, 탄도미사일 프로그램 및 기존 핵 프로그램을 완전하고 검증 가능하며 돌이킬 수 없는 방식으로 폐기하고 모든 관련 활동을 중단함으로써 유엔 안보리 결의를 즉각 준수해야 한다”고 강조했습니다.

앞서 한국 합동참모본부는 북한이 현지 시각 15일 오후 7시 25분부터 7시 37분까지 동해상으로 단거리 탄도미사일(SRBM) 2발을 발사했다고 밝혔습니다.
